In this knowledge-based continuing pharmacy education activity Thomas Buckley, RPh, MPH, FNP discusses the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and its future.

Target Audience

Pharmacists who are interested in the healthcare and the Affordable Care Act.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of the activity, pharmacists will be able to:

·         Explain the components of the ACA that have been enacted since its inception
·         Discuss the successes and shortcomings of the ACA since its enactment
·         Review elements of the ACA which apply to the pharmacy profession
·         Discuss the potential future of the ACA overall, and specific to the pharmacy profession

The University of Connecticut, School of Pharmacy, is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.  1 contact hour (0.1 CEU) will be awarded to pharmacists who submit the assessment successfully with a passing grade of 70% and complete the evaluation. (ACPE #0009-0000-16-081-H03-P).  Credits will  be electronically transmitted to CPE Monitor within 72 hours of completing the activity.
