Annual Arthur E. Schwarting Pharmacy Practice Symposium

The Arthur E. Schwarting Symposium has historically been an annual, all day continuing education program for pharmacists held in May on the University of Connecticut Storrs campus.  The program was named in honor of Arthur E. Schwarting, Ph.D. a former dean of the School of Pharmacy. This year we are joining forces with the Connecticut Chapter of the Association of Consulting Pharmacists (CT-ASCP) and calling the symposium the Schwarting Senior Symposium.  There will be three different tracks occurring throughout the day long event.  See below for all of the details!

TRACK #1-Senior Symposium

Topics to include: New Drug Updates, Anticoagulants in the Elderly, Adverse Drug Effects in the Elderly, and more! There will be 7.5 hours of ACPE CE credits awarded to Pharmacists if you attend the entire day.
This program is approved for 7.5 contact hour(s) of continuing education (which includes 4.25 hours of pharmacology) by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.  Program ID 1404207.  This program was planned in accordance with AANP CE Standards and Policies and AANP  Commercial Support Standards.

TRACK #2 – Arthur E. Schwarting Pharmacy Practice Symposium

“MTM for Patients with Diabetes” 

A  Practice-based continuing education activity for pharmacists in all areas of practice who wish to further their clinical and communication skills in the management of patients with diabetes to improve diabetes disease management and empower patients with diabetes to improve their health.

TRACK #3-Immunization Training

“Immunization Training for Pharmacists”

A practice-based continuing education activity for pharmacists who plan to implement a pharmacist-directed immunization program at their practice site or fulfill the requirements to become a pharmacist immunizer.  This comprehensive and interactive practice-based continuing pharmacy education certification program is designed to meet various state regulations* for pharmacist immunizers.

This activity meets state requirements for immunization in Connecticut (with current CPR certification).  For out of state participants please check your state regulations.  This is NOT the APhA activity.
