Pharmaceutics Prerequisites |

Students have succeeded in the pharmaceutics graduate program with backgrounds in pharmacy, chemistry, chemical engineering, bioengineering, polymer science, biology, biochemistry and related fields. Students entering without four semesters of calculus and two semesters of physical chemistry are expected to complete these within their first year of graduate study. Other background courses may also be required by individual faculty members depending upon the nature of the student’s prior education and expected research direction. Applicants should hold a B.S. or B.A. degree. GRE general test scores, TOEFL & TSE scores (for foreign applicants) and 3 letters of reference are also required. Applications are accepted throughout the year for admission in September. Normally, requests for financial aid must be received before February 1st.the International students who are not native speakers of English must submit scores for the Test of English as a Foreign Language [http://www.ets.org/toefl] (TOEFL) at a minimum level of 550 for the paper-based test or 213 for the computer-based test or, preferably, the test administered by the International English Language Testing System [http://www.ielts.org] (IELTS) at a minimum level of 6.5. To qualify for a teaching assistantship, the applicant's score on the speaking portion of the IELTS must be 8. Applicants with scores below 8 on the speaking portion will be required to take the Phone Pass SET-10 [http://ordinate.com/content/prod/prod-level1.shtml] test in order to qualify for a teaching assistantship. |
