Public Presentations

outreach public presentation don't flushFor many years, our students have researched, prepared and delivered a wide variety of pharmacy and health related topics in a diverse mix of settings throughout the state and region. Whether focused on an important program such as Medicare Part D, a health-related topic, or an issue of public concern such as drug abuse, student presentations are reviewed by our faculty to ensure appropriate and up-to-date content. Our work in this area has received state and national acclaim.

Our students have been actively involved in activities in our communities as participants in larger organized events such as the semi-annual drug take back days as well as smaller, local senior center presentations offering a number of different topics. A student presentation of prescription drug abuse delivered in Windsor was reprised by Pharmacy Commissioner Edith Goodmaster at the summer NABP meeting receiving acclamation in their national newsletter. Another group of students made a similar presentation with Commissioner Goodmaster at a local school. Kelley LaFleur, our contact partner in Hebron Drug destruction events noted a poster in the Mansfield community center regarding the SNPhA “Beat the Pack” smoking cessation initiative and arranged to spread this project to Hebron as well.
