The University of Connecticut is a Research I institution and our expert faculty are supported by state-of-the-art facilities. Many of our researchers are recognized internationally as leaders in their field.
In the Department of Pharmacy Practice, faculty members conduct clinical and translational outcomes research with the goal of improving patient care and the healthcare system. There are two main outcomes research focuses in the department – comparative effectiveness research and health services research. The department houses one of the premier outcomes research groups in the country performing systematic reviews, modeling and observational studies, and educational assessment projects while the other group is nationally recognized for evaluating the role of the pharmacist in the health care system and the impact of expanding pharmacy services to ethnically diverse and economically disadvantaged patients.
